Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
Fucking hell, why can't he get a season ending injury like any of our good players!? Just 6 weeks!? Fuck it, Zarate could score 50 goals and set up another 50 in those 6 weeks, Nolan hobbles back in.

I actually would like to see Zarate with a fully fit (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!) Andy Carroll. That could work nicely, Carroll, unlike Nolan, is actually a half decent footballer (I seem to remember?!)

6 weeks !!! Hurrah !

We could be safe by then

If by any stroke of luck it's 12, we could be vying for Champions League!

Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
Not many players play in the Premiership beyond 32 / 33 anyway nowadays and one that was never that athletic or mobile or skillful will not be expected to. To his credit he has said he wants to end his career with us so will see out his contract, retire and likely move into coaching and management. So he will or should accept that the first step to his eventual retirement is going from starter to the bench as an impact sub. That should happen if Zarate, Morrison or whoever plays in the No. 10 role, can continue their good form and more importantly the team gets results. If not, he will against the odds and most people's better judgement, be restored to the starting line up by BFS who will go back to what he knows if things go pear shaped.

Saturdays result and performance is just a start. We have to hope we can secure a run of good results and performances or he will be back as a starter and it would be hard to argue against it if results go south. I would hope not and expect not but this is West Ham.

Sam banging on about having 5 injured players at the moment.
Apart from carrol nolan and jarvis who are the other 2 ?

Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
Even when he was terrible last season, we still owe a lot to the little run of form and goals he got. So even when he is shit, he has proved himself valuable.

peroni

I doubt ILPDC was literally serious, but his artistic license should get at least three points stuck on it, because his art is SHIT.

Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
People defending Nolan obviously don't watch him every week...

Yeah, he did have a reasonable game against Spurs but for the majority of last season he was a passenger...

He's on the downward spiral now... Think he's 32 now and he's an old 32-year-old... Not an athletic one who can play for years still...

peroni 10:05 Mon Aug 25
Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
Calm down all the pompous dram-queens.

Guess what? I doubt very much that ILPDC really wants Nolan to die. He's just used artistic license to emphasise his point. It's not a method I would use, but you've got to be a right prick to take it literally.

Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
I don't know how much ground he covered, though I'm sure it was a lot more than some would give him credit for.
In fairness, covering a lot of ground doesn't necessarily equate to productivity, as Noble often demonstrates.

Darby_ 9:54 Mon Aug 25
Re: Nolan set to miss 6 weeks with shoulder injury
Didn't someone say that he covered more ground in the Totts game that anyone in the team other than Noble?
